The Truman Bootstrap Internship Award for 2016 is now available for undergraduates who wish to experience public service and the national policy process.

The award provides two undergraduates interested in government service with an eight to nine week immersion in the Washington, D.C. offices of the Missouri Congressional delegation or other appropriate offices.

The internship will be completed during the Summer Academic Session. Participants will have opportunities to connect with past Truman Center speakers such as Don Ritchie, Historian of the U.S. Senate, or Margaret Talev, Bloomberg News White House Correspondent. Interns will share quarters with interns from the other UM campuses and meet UM administrators who visit Washington during this time.

Serving as an intern in Washington can be an exciting and rewarding experience, involving oneself in the exciting and fast-paced daily life of Capitol Hill. Applications must be completed and submitted by 3 p.m. Jan. 29, 2016.
