Oluseun (“Seun”) Idowu, an interdisciplinary Ph.D. student in Geosciences and Statistics, has been selected as one of 10 students nationwide to serve on the Council of Students from 2012 to 2014 for The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi. This is the nation’s oldest, largest and most selective collegiate honor society for all disciplines, and has more than 300 chapters across the United States, Puerto Rico and the Philippines.

Seun was elected to Phi Kappa Phi in 2009, receiving a $500 Love of Learning grant from the organization in 2010.  Since 2010, he has served as one of the student vice presidents for UMKC’s Chapter 103 of Phi Kappa Phi, which each year inducts more than 100 students, faculty, staff, alumni and community members at its annual Initiation Ceremony in April.
