The University of Missouri System has installed a new emergency alert program for the four campuses. The Rave program replaces the former Alert system but works in a similar manner. In the event of a natural disaster, violent event or weather-related campus closing, an alert message will be transmitted to all faculty, staff and students via email, voice and text.
We have scheduled a TEST of the new Rave program for Wednesday, June 29 at 1 p.m. The test is required by federal law. Recipients will be notified that this is a test of the new system, and not an actual emergency.

Two UMKC students, Nicolette Wallis and Matthew Bingesser, were recently named Summer 2016 UMKC Truman Center Washington Interns.
Chosen in a competitive process among UMKC undergraduate applicants, they will join interns from the other University of Missouri campuses living together in condos near the Capitol and working in offices of Missouri representatives and senators.
Wallis, who is a double major in Urban Planning & Design and Economics, will work for Missouri Rep. Emanuel Cleaver. Bingesser, a political science major with a minor in economics, will work for Missouri Rep. Vicky Hartzler.
