UMKC Fulbright Recipients, 2013-2014

FulbrightThe Fulbright Program is funded through the United States Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. The Fulbright Program provides funding for students, scholars, teachers, and professionals to undertake graduate study, advanced research, university teaching, and teaching in elementary and secondary schools.  This competitive program requires applicants to undergo an extensive application process.  UMKC is proud to announce students selected to receive one of these prestigious awards:

Research Awards

  • John Chittum, Doctoral Student at the Conservatory, will be studying in Sweden (one of ten selected out of 45 applicants)

English Teaching Assistantships

  • Kate Tankel, Education and Spanish, will be teaching in Ecuador (one of three selected out of 52 applicants)
  • Nathan Hoffmann, French and Cello, will be teaching in Belgium (one of two selected out of 31 applicants)
