Welcome to the UMKC Women’s Center!

The UMKC Women’s Center was founded in 1971 and is one of the oldest campus women’s centers in the United States. Our mission is to advocate, educate, and provide support services for the advancement of women’s equity on campus and within the community at large. In support of this mission, the Women’s Center provides a number of educational programs, services and resources. Our services and resources include the Women’s Center Library, which offers books, videos, and audio tapes that can be useful for research and pertaining to women and gender studies, or even just provide some interesting reading on women’s issues. Our programs include the Starr Symposium, the Her Art Project, and Violence Prevention education and events. We also offer comfortable spaces and public computers for students looking for a quiet place to study or just hang out. You can always find a cup of coffee and good conversation in the Women’s Center. Come by 105 Haag Hall and check us out!
