Getting Involved on Campus

If you are looking for ways to get involved on campus, there are many opportunities for you to check out! From specific clubs and organizations to broad offices and centers, there is always something to do! Check out the University’s Activities Calendar for a broad scope of activities, or check out any of the following offices if you’re looking for something more specific!

The Office of Student Involvement is the head of many programs around campus. In addition to being the administrator of student organizations, they also sponsor Activity and Program Council, Commuter Student Resources and Activities, Communiversity, Fraternity and Sorority Affairs, Leadership and Service Programs, LGBTQIA, and other student activities! Keep a look out for student organization Roo Fairs and opportunities to volunteer for community service! Check out their website for more information!

Multicultural Student Affairs offers many services to students all around campus. The primary objective of MSA is to improve the quality of the multicultural students’ college experience by maintaining an open door policy, advising multicultural student organizations, assisting students to utilize the resources available at UMKC, and supporting the growth and development of multicultural students through educational, social, and cultural programming. Check out their website or stop by the MSA suite in the Student Union!

The Women’s Center provides a number of educational programs, services and resources. Their services and resources include the Women’s Center Library, Starr Symposium, the Her Art Project, and Violence Prevention education and events. They also offer comfortable spaces and public computers for students looking for a quiet place to study or just hang out. The Career Services office offers a place to empower students and others to successfully develop, evaluate, and initiate career planning and professional development within a constantly changing work environment. They offer many resources to attain success, including Individual Career Counseling, Career Assessments,  Mock Interviews,  Career Resources, Workshops, On-Campus Recruiting, Job Listings, Career Fairs, and Teacher Recruitment.
