Making a Plan Toward Graduation Seminar

This week’s workshop will discuss how your educational path here at UMKC will help lead you into your career after graduation.  Career Services will also be on hand to give tips on creating your resume as well as a cover letter.  Overwhelmed with the job searching process and then what to do once you have applied for a job, or a few? We will be discussing some tips and strategies on how to search for your perfect job after graduation and go over a few interview techniques and strategies to help you land that dream job.

This Week’s Seminars are:
11/7     Tues     12:30pm
11/8   Wed      3:00pm
All Seminars will take place in the Student Union room 419.

Next Week’s Seminar: Test Anxiety.  Click here for the semester schedule.  Seminars are mandatory for students on financial aid contracts, Bloch Scholars and Osher Scholars.  Each session lasts approximately 50 minutes.  Students must sign in within 10 minutes of the seminar starting to receive credit.

Sleep is very important! It is a natural part of everyone’s life, but many people including college students know very little about how important it is, and some try to get by with little or no sleep. Sleep is something our bodies need to do; it is not an option. Some parts of the brain actually increase their activity dramatically, and the body produces more of certain hormones while we are sleeping. Sleep, like diet and exercise, is important for our minds and bodies to function normally.

Nationwide Emergency Alert System Test November 9 at 1:00pm

A national Emergency Alert System (EAS) test will be conducted on Wednesday, November 9 at 1:00pm Central Time. It will be broadcast over all participating radio, television, cable, and satellite providers. This test will look/ sound similar to local tests, and may last up to 3.5 minutes.
