Communiversity Wholistic Health Fair- Nov 13

Sunday, November 13 from 11:00am-6:00pm in the Student Union, Communiversity is hosting their annual Wholistic Health Fair.  This health fair includes numerous exhibitors, workshops, and a silent auction.

The fair itself is free, and passes to workshops can be purchased for $3 per workshop, or $7 for 3 workshops.  The workshop schedule can be found here, and a coupon for a free workshop can also be downloaded here.

Spring Parking Permits on Sale On-Line Nov 21

Commuter, Evening, Residential, Remote permits for the Spring semester will go on sale on-line at 8:00 a.m. November 21st

Detailed information about each permit as well as the sale date for the Oak Place permit can be found at this link: http://www.umkc.edu/adminfinance/parking/permits.asp.  Click “Fall 2011/Spring 2012” under Student Permits and a drop down box will reveal all permits available through Parking Operations.  To learn more about each permit just click on the appropriate tab. 

If you are interested in purchasing a permit you should do so early as they expect to sell out.

Effective Research Strategies Seminar

This seminar will not be like your traditional workshop of becoming familiar with the library. We will discuss techniques on topic researching in the library database as well as how to effectively use Google as a literary search engine. We will also be discussing the difference between peer reviewed articles and non-peer reviewed.

All Seminars will take place in the Student Union room 419.

Next Week’s Seminar: Making a Plan Towards Graduation.  Click here for the semester schedule.  Seminars are mandatory for students on financial aid contracts, Bloch Scholars and Osher Scholars.  Each session lasts approximately 50 minutes.  Students must sign in within 10 minutes of the seminar starting to receive credit.
