Tips for Staying Healthy & Flu Shot Clinics

This time of year, maintaining your health is very important.  Getting sick right now could mean missing important classes–or worse–exams.  It could also take time away from studying and working on projects, meaning more stress for you later!

There are several easy things you can do to decrease your chances of getting sick.  Wash your hands frequently, especially before eating, and try to avoid touching your face too much.  Eat regular meals throughout the day, and try to stay away from eating too much junk.  Exercising on a regular basis not only keeps your body strong, but it can be a great stress reliever!  For more information, visit the influenza resource website by Student Health & Wellness.

Finally, getting a flu shot can boost your body’s resistance to the flu.  The UMKC Student Health & Wellness offers flu shot clinics to students each year.  Below is a list of the clinic times and locations.  These clinics are on a walk-in basis, and the shot costs students $15 (be sure you take your Student ID card with you!).  If you can’t make the clinics, appointments may be made through the Student Health and Wellness Center for flu shots.  Contact SHWC for more information (816) 235-6133.
