Scanners Replacing Library Photocopiers

UMKC Libraries is happy to announce the installation of Knowledge Imaging Center (KIC) scanning stations.

Using KIC scanners is easy. Capture digital images of research and study materials, then either email them to yourself or save them on a portable flash drive. Scanners can handle virtually any size book, magazine, journal, newspaper, photo or other material from postage stamp size up to 11 x 17 inches in black and white or full color. The images and even text from PDF files can then be pasted into reports or research papers.

Still need to a hardcopy? No problem. Just send the scanned image to a nearby printer.

KIC scanning stations soon will be in place at the Dental Library, Health Sciences Library, and on the ground and first floors of the Miller Nichols Library.

See our LibGuide for more information and detailed instructions.
