UMKC Libraries proudly announces the launch of its new website designed for internet enabled mobile phones. Now users can access many of the most popular and frequently-used features from the Libraries’ full website in a streamlined, mobile version. The site can be accessed directly at http://library.umkc.edu/mobile/.

UMKC Libraries mobile website provides library users the capability to perform any of the following tasks:

  • Search MERLIN, the online library catalog for University of Missouri System;
  • Get hours and directions to the Miller Nichols, Health Sciences, Dental, and Law libraries;
  • View libraries’ contact information;
  • Check computer availability in the Miller Nichols, Health Sciences, and Dental libraries and around campus;
  • Begin research using RooSearch, LibGuides, or selected databases;
  • Browse recent libraries-related news, events, and construction updates;
  • See special alerts about weather or emergency related closings;
  • Provide feedback on using the site; and
  • Download a shortcut to their phone to make access even easier.

The site was developed early last fall and has undergone substantial functionality and usability testing in subsequent months. Although no significant changes are planned, adjustments may be made in response to user feedback.

Give it a try and tell us what you think!
