International Students’ Day Celebrates India

india flagUMKC Libraries is hosting International Students’ Day from 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. on Friday, April 17 in the iX Theater on the first floor of Miller Nichols Library.

International education is an integral part of University of Missouri-Kansas City. In order to make the UMKC Library a friendly and scholarly hub and home for international students, the University Library hosts International Students’ Day in the Library.

This year’s event will celebrate Indian students, the largest group of the international student body. Speakers will make presentations on Indian heritage and current social issues. Other activities include live musical performances, food and a short movie. A book display will be set up in the library to showcase Indian culture.

This event is aimed to enhance mutual understanding and cultural appreciation as well as celebrate the diversity of UMKC’s students. The event is sponsored by UMKC Friends of the Library and UMKC School of Law. Free refreshments will be served. All UMKC students, faculty, and staff are welcome to attend this program.
