How Will you Know if Classes are Cancelled?

By , February 14, 2012 8:22 am

In the event of severe weather, the following procedure is in place to determine the cancellation of classes and/or the closure of the University.  It is part of the Business Interruption Policy, which can be found here.

The Chancellor will make the final decision on weather-related closures by 5:30am, or 3:30pm for the cancellation of evening classes.  If the decision is made to cancel classes or close the University, this announcement will be released to local media (television, radio) stations, put on UMKC’s home page, and sent through the UMKC Alert! system.  The UMKC Alert! system provides the update to you via e-mail, phone call, or text message, depending on the information you have provided for this purpose.  To update your information, log on to Pathway, then click “Emergency Mass Notification.”
