SI Supervisor Training Online

This interactive online training fully addresses the topics and objectives necessary for the SI Supervisor certificate including: procedures for selecting SI courses and SI Leaders; roles of supervisors and leaders as well as benefits; evaluation and funding of the program; training and supervision of SI Leaders; theoretical frameworks underlying the SI model; and effective learning strategies and SI session activities. In addition to full participation resulting in the SI Supervisor certificate of completion, those who complete the training will receive reproducible copies of the SI Supervisor Manual and The Leader’s Guide to Supplemental Instruction.

  • Registered participants will receive an email containing the agenda, meeting link and other information relevant to the training one week (7 days) in advance.
  • Participants should be prepared to be present for the entirety of the training. The trainers reserve the right to deny a participant their completion certificate and materials should the participant miss integral training components.

All session dates run from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM Central Time (either CST or CDT as noted).

PLEASE NOTE: All purchases of SI Supervisor Training Online registrations must be completed through the Customer Portal, either via credit card or electronic check. The International Center is unable to accept payment via invoice or purchase order for these registrations.

Registered participants will receive an email containing the agenda, meeting link and other information relevant to the training one week (7 days) in advance.

Registration cost:

  • $875 USD/participant*
  • *Training fee is lower than Regional SI Supervisor Training since trainer travel is not required.

Accredited SI Program discount:

  • SI programs which have achieved accreditation with the International Center for SI can reach out to us at icsi@umkc.edu to receive a $50 discount code.

Cancellations accepted up to 5 business days prior to the first day of a given training session. Due to high demand for this training, refunds will not be provided for no-show or cancellation less than 5 days prior to the session. Substitutions from within the same institution are always acceptable (please notify us of any changes in participation at icsi@umkc.edu).

Regional SI Supervisor Training

In an effort to make our in-person trainings more accessible, the International Center for Supplemental Instruction is pleased to offer SI Supervisor Training on a quarterly basis at colleges and universities across the US.

This interactive in-person training addresses the topics and objectives necessary for the SI Supervisor certificate including: procedures for selecting SI courses and SI Leaders; roles of supervisors and leaders as well as benefits; evaluation and funding of the program; training and supervision of SI Leaders; theoretical frameworks underlying the SI model; and effective learning strategies and SI session activities. In addition to full participation resulting in the SI Supervisor certificate of completion, those who complete the training will receive reproducible copies of the SI Supervisor Manual and The Leader’s Guide to Supplemental Instruction. There will also be an opportunity to tour and/or learn more about the host institution’s program. Continental breakfast and lunch will be provided each day of the training.

Transportation:

  • The FAU shuttle can be rented for transport to and from your hotel at $50/hour or $250 for 4 hours. This expense will need to be covered by the renter as FAU is unable to fund the shuttle rental.
  • Rideshare services such as Lyft or Uber are recommended otherwise.

Food options on campus:

  • FAU Club – $15 all you can eat lunch
  • Student Dining Hall – $10 all you can eat lunch

If you need to cancel a registration, you must inform the International Center at least two weeks before the beginning of training. Registrants who no-show or do not cancel at least one week prior to the training will, at minimum, incur the food-related expenses for the three days. Any partial refund is the discretion of the International Center for SI.
