Institution-Specific Training

The International Center for Supplemental Instruction offers various support options that can be arranged specifically for an audience at one institution. Institution-specific training is a great way to get customized training for your campus needs. Trainings are designed to reach each relationship included in the SI model. This narrated slideshow presentation provides an overview of Supplemental Instruction including the SI model, key stakeholders, how and why SI works, how SI impacts student success, relevant data, and international expansion. The presentation is well suited for those new to SI, exploring SI for their campuses, informing key stakeholders, training SI Leaders, or as a refresher for existing programs. Bonus information within this recording not included in prior years’ training presentations includes additional historical context regarding SI’s origins and research findings regarding SI’s return on investment. Approximately 35 minutes.

Purchase SI Overview

This training option provides a narrated slideshow overview of Supplemental Instruction which runs approximately 35 minutes, and includes a 60-minute Q&A session with a Certified SI Trainer once all of the interested parties at the institution have viewed the video and compiled questions.

The presentation is well suited for those new to SI, exploring SI for their campuses, informing key stakeholders, training SI Leaders, or as a refresher for existing programs. Bonus information within this recording not included in prior years’ training presentations includes additional historical context regarding SI’s origins and research findings regarding SI’s return on investment.

The institution will contact the ICSI to schedule the Q&A session after all interested parties at the institution have viewed the overview video. Purchase SI Overview PLUS

This training is designed for faculty with SI support in their classes or those interested in possibly adding SI support. This training is also well-suited for those considering implementing SI on their campus or those who feel they would benefit from a refresher in the foundational elements of SI. This training is not designed to meet the objectives necessary to lead a campus SI program. SI program leaders are recommended to attend SI Supervisor Training.

Participants will receive an overview of SI and will actively engage in understanding the tools used by SI Leaders to plan and lead effective sessions.

Duration: 5 hours (typically 9 a.m.-2 p.m.)
Capacity: 25 participants*
Price: $4,000.00 USD

*Up to 10 additional participants can be included in the training. Each extra participant would add an additional $100.00 to the cost of the training for a maximum training fee of $5,000.00 USD.

Purchase Faculty Awareness Training

This training is designed to cover the basics of the SI Leader role, including facilitation strategies, collaborative learning techniques, learning strategies, planning, etc. Participants will receive an overview of SI and will actively engage in understanding the tools used by SI Leaders to plan and lead effective sessions.

Duration: 5 hours (typically 9 a.m.-2 p.m.)
Capacity: 25 participants*
Price: $4,000.00 USD

*Up to 10 additional participants can be included in the training. Each extra participant would add an additional $100.00 to the cost of the training for a maximum training fee of $5,000.00 USD.

Purchase SI Leader Training

Looking for some help in getting a program off the ground or trying to revamp a current program? A Customized SI training through the International Center for SI might be the answer. This is a great way to get hands-on support from the International Center for your program and campus needs.

Below are descriptions of our main customizable support offerings, each of which can be tailored to meet institutional needs. Please note, each training will require work sessions via Zoom prior to the event(s). If you think your need doesn’t fit into one of the offerings below, we are happy to discuss alternative options.

  • Assigned trainer will work closely with the SI program leadership to develop and co-facilitate a robust pre-term training for SI Leaders.

  • Assigned trainer will work closely with the SI program leadership to develop and co-facilitate a robust 2-day pre-term training for SI Leaders, as well as a half day Faculty Awareness Workshop.

SI Leader Training, Faculty Awareness Workshop, and Onsite Consultation

  • Assigned trainer will work closely with the SI program leadership to develop and co-facilitate a robust 2-day pre-term training for SI Leaders, as well as half day Faculty Awareness Workshop. The training workshop will be followed by in-depth consultation wherein the assigned Certified Trainer will provide recommendation for program quality enhancement.
