The Lewer Companies is looking for a Marketing Communications Intern with an inexhaustible can-do attitude to work in our Country Club Plaza office. Lewer is a family-owned insurance business, strong for 60+ years, and specializes in designing and administering comprehensive group benefits.
This is a part-time position (20 hours per week) with a flexible schedule to accommodate the candidate’s pursuit of a degree. Lewer wants to find an intern who wants to enhance their portfolio and truly enjoys communicating to external and internal audiences. Our next marketing team member must be able to research, write and edit marketing content for both print and website, along with assisting in the coordination of conferences and philanthropic events. The successful candidate will need to have a fair degree of assertiveness to follow up with Lewer Leadership in interviewing them for blogs and social media postings. Primary Function: Works closely with Director of Marketing and others in Lewer Leadership to execute marketing and communication tasks

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Research, write and edit for digital content as well as print marketing collateral such as brochures, advertising and website descriptions
  • Help marketing and sales staff with updating contact records in Hubspot database
  • Conduct and/or assist in market sector research
  • Coordinate conferences and philanthropic events
  • Interview Lewer Leadership for blogs and social media postings
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned

Qualifications:

Junior or Senior level college student pursuing a degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or Journalism preferred

GPA of 3.0 or higher

Requires writing, editing, and proofing skills

Proficient in MS Word

Successful candidate will be trained in Adobe InDesign. Some knowledge working in the application is preferred

Attention to detail, excellent problem solving skills, organizational and multi-tasking skills

Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines required
