Internships

The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art offers internships to individuals seeking valuable experience in their area of interest or study. Internship opportunities vary and go beyond the study of art history; firsthand experience ranges from clerical work to research and focused projects. Internships are typically unpaid, but students can arrange academic credit for their experience. During the summer, interns have the opportunity to participate in a Summer Salon, which includes activities such as presentations by staff, visits to local galleries, and the opportunity to give in-gallery talks.

Museum departments typically accepting interns are: Education, Imaging Services, Design, Marketing, and Curatorial. Students are responsible for their own transportation and housing arrangements.

Internship Posting Timeline: Summer: late February/early March Fall: late June/early July Spring: late October/early November.

Intern – Event Coordinator

Description
The NAIA is looking for a intern in event coordination to assist with two upcoming NAIA events; Champions of Character Foundation Luncheon and the NAIA National Convention. This paid intern position will be part-time (20 hours) from January – March and then full-time (40 hours) during April and May.

Champions of Character Foundation
• Coordinate all donor correspondence – commitment letters, tax letters, cold call letters, sponsorship packets (to secure sponsors and sponsor follow-up after luncheon)
• Assisting in maintaining donor base system (CRM etc. )
• Assisting in on-site event execution, including set-up break down and AV support (luncheon)
• Assisting with development and maintenance of mailings, media and guests lists (luncheon)
• Assist in prospecting new sponsors and donors (research)
• Assist in sponsor/donor fulfillment for luncheon and Teaming Up for Character
• Other duties as assigned
