Internships
The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art
offers internships to individuals seeking valuable experience in their
area of interest or study. Internship opportunities vary and go beyond
the study of art history; firsthand experience ranges from clerical work
to research and focused projects. Internships are typically unpaid, but
students can arrange academic credit for their experience. During the
summer, interns have the opportunity to participate in a Summer Salon,
which includes activities such as presentations by staff, visits to
local galleries, and the opportunity to give in-gallery talks.
Museum
departments typically accepting interns are: Education, Imaging
Services, Design, Marketing, and Curatorial. Students are responsible
for their own transportation and housing arrangements.
Internship Posting Timeline: Summer: late February/early March Fall: late June/early July Spring: late October/early November.
