This internship is for the Summer 2020 semester ONLY Reports to: Jocelyn Edens, Specialist, Interpretation and Digital Learning Hours per week: 15 hours/week Purpose The Intern, Digital Interpretation will support the functions and effectiveness of Smartify, the app and content management system the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art uses to deliver audio and video stories about its permanent collection to visitors. This is an entry level position that helps connect visitors to works of art through multimedia content. With a focus in digital interpretation, the intern will also get a broad introduction to visitor-centered museum work.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Understand and work on customer’s internal brand strategy.
  • Design digital media for customers, including email graphics, website templates and newsletters.

This internship is for the Summer 2020 semester ONLY.10-12 Hours a week, $1,000 stipend for semester

Role and Responsibilities The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art seeks an intern passionate about film to help communicate and grow audiences for the museum’s new Tivoli at the Nelson-Atkins independent film program. The focus will be on researching and creating social media content using the confirmed films, with the intent to grow the social media following and engage with Tivoli online community. Tivoli interns can expect to help with many aspects of Tivoli programming as well as marketing campaigns for the museum. This position requires a 10-12 hour/week time commitment. Schedule to be finalized each semester between student and department schedules.

Paid Internship **APPLICATION DEADLINE 3/23/2020** This internship is for the Summer 2020 semester ONLY Reports to: Julie Bishop-Director, Event Planning Purpose The event planning intern will have the opportunity to train and work with the Event Planning Team on a variety of tasks as well as serve as the Art Course Event Concierge. This role will support the overall goals, sales and marketing of Art Course events for the project. This seasonal position will primarily focus on selling, coordinating and serving as the on-site contact for Art Course mini golf special events; while offering exposure and training to diverse events ranging from weddings to family festivals. Schedule This position is from approximately 5/18/2020 – 08/28/2020. This position has a variable schedule most events occurring weekdays evenings and on the weekends. Approximately 20- 25 hours per week. Compensation This position pays $12.00 per hour.
