We are looking for curious, motivated individuals seeking hands-on experience in the exciting world of travel marketing and advertising in our Kansas City, Missouri, office.

Program Details:

In each respective department, interns will be assigned a mentor to foster their professional development. Interns will be assigned real work with real clients. Interns will also work on a summer project as a group and present to the client and agency at large.

? Client Services

  • Complete all regular tasks/paperwork associated with managing the account
  • Organize and coordinate efforts with all internal agency departments (media, creative, production, traffic, interactive, public relations and accounting)
  • Create and maintain project timelines
  • Maintain client status reports and conference reports
  • Facilitate all client media plans, ad production and ad fulfillment
  • Follow agency traffic and billing procedures
  • Support account management team

 

? Creative (Design)

  • Conceptualize, draft and finalize needed solutions while working with creative and account teams throughout the design process
  • Support the creation of creative materials for both prospective client pitches and active jobs
  • Communicate project details
  • Collaborate with writers, product managers and other stakeholders to meet goals and optimize campaign performance
  • Gain experience in creating graphics for large and small print materials as well as designing for implementation on the web
  • Create content that adheres to our clients’ style brand guidelines
  • Shadow art directors, graphic designers, copywriters and production artists, learning their responsibilities while working on projects for both print and web. Projects include design and production of travel magazines, brochures, direct mail pieces, web-based marketing, online advertisements and assisting with creative department administrative tasks.

 

? Creative (Copywriting)

  • Work with senior-level creative team members across various client business
  • Write headlines and short-form copy for travel publications
  • Compose long-form copy for travel brochures and mailers
  • Proof printed pieces
  • Assist with drafting potential branding campaigns and initiatives
  • Write social media posts and digital communications
  • Learn about the travel marketing industry

 

? Social Media

  • Assist in the ideation and creation of monthly content, social media reporting, managing and growing social communities, and executing social media campaigns
  • Schedule content for all social media channels
  • Assist with day-to-day social media community management for a wide range of client portfolios
  • Source and secure approval of user-generated content for use in social channels
  • Assist with social media reporting that includes an analysis of current social activity and future marketing recommendations based on trend data
  • Communicate timely social media news and trends
  • Provide support on various administrative duties necessary to learning all facets of a marketing agency

 

? Media

  • Traffic digital media assets to vendors
  • Process digital media reporting (pull reports, format data, etc.)
  • Assist with broadcast campaigns (inputting avails, managing pre/post logs, etc.)
  • Lead 2–3 research projects and present findings to media department
  • Schedule educational vendor presentations; serve as point of contact for follow-up correspondence with media partners
  • Learn about the travel marketing industry

? Marketing Technology (Web)

  • Schedule/coordinate with PMs/AMs and prep our content entry team when there are content maintenance requests
  • Aid CRM team with content/editorial calendars and reporting and QA of email testing
  • Help PMs build maintenance work timelines
  • Learn the ins and outs of our content management systems including Drupal, WordPress, Umbraco, etc., and learn how to make website content updates
  • Learn our BA/QA and assist smaller requests that we work on

 

? Planning and Data Strategy

  • Work with the measurement team to understand the role of a marketing analyst and how those skills will translate in terms of the group
  • Enter data for custom data-sets
  • Work with ChannelMix (third-party data provider) to connect new data sources and request new data sets
  • Test data sets in Tableau and compare them to reporting platforms to ensure the accuracy of the data structure
  • Refresh and maintain ADARA Impact, Place IQ and Arrivalist data for DMO clients
  • Work with the planning team to understand the role of a strategic planner
  • Aid in research for new business projects
  • Understand how to navigate Google Analytics
  • Pull insights from GA
  • Build pivot tables based on raw data

 

Internship dates will be from May 29, 2018, through August 3, 2018. The internships will be full time up to 30 hours per week.
