Position Title:     Graphic Design and Marketing Intern

Nature and scope of the position:

The Marketing Intern will primarily assist staff with marketing, graphic design, social media, public relations and administrative duties and activities including managing the agency’s website, mobile site, e-communications, assisting with graphic design, updating the agency database, writing feature stories and managing special projects.

Associate Account Executive

Media Relations/Marketing Intern – Children’s Mercy ($10/hour)

Position Description:

The Graphic Design Intern will assist the Graphic Design Coordinator and the Graphic Design Manager with ongoing graphic design projects. The intern will also be assigned a campaign project to showcase his/her diverse artistic talents.

Terms of the internship include, but are not limited to:

  • Paid internship – we will coordinate with school to provide class credit as well

Media Relations/Marketing Intern – Children’s Mercy ($10/hour)

The Children’s Mercy Media Relations Department is a three-person department responsible for facilitating all contacts with the news media, as well as proactively seeking news coverage on a local, regional and national level.

The department is responsible for:

  • Arranging interviews with physicians, nurses, patients, administrators, or other Children’s Mercy employees and the news media
  • Preparing experts for interviews with the news media
  • Story development and story pitching
  • Message development
  • Writing articles and developing other content for website and social channels
  • Updating and enhancing the online newsroom

Department Description:

Communications and Marketing – Medical is responsible for the development and implementation of marketing plans for strategic service lines, programs and faculty of the hospital, as well as initiatives to strengthen the overall brand for Children’s Mercy.
