As a marketing/membership intern at the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine (STFM), you’ll work closely with a professional mentor as you gain valuable experience in message design, targeted marketing, and membership retention strategies. Interns will analyze data for marketing projects, plan event logistics for national medical education conferences, coordinate membership retention projects, and creatively promote educational resources to our members. The Society of Teachers of Family Medicine (STFM) is a national professional association that provides resources and training to medical professional educators at family physician medical colleges and residency programs. During your internship, you’ll benefit from mentorship and training by experienced nonprofit professionals and exposure to a dynamic nonprofit work environment. This internship is unpaid, but will give you great experience in marketing and project management at a nonprofit.

Requirements:

  • Current college student with graduation date in 2018, 2019, or 2020.
  • Pursuing study in communications, marketing, nonprofit leadership, pre-medicine, or related area preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently on important projects
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a professional demeanor

Responsibilities:

  • Interns will commit to approximately 10-15 hours of project work per week.
  • Orientation and regular bi-weekly meetings will take place at the STFM office in Leawood, KS.
