WAC On-Campus Intern Program

The Western Athletic Conference is accepting applications for the position of WAC On-Campus Intern. This position is open to current students at WAC member institutions who are eligible to receive academic credit by completing a satisfactory internship program. The length of the internship is intended to be August – December 2018.

Graphic Design Internship Program—435 Magazine

435 Magazine offers a three-month (20 hours per week) internship program working closely with the advertising, design, production and digital departments.

This internship includes work for both 435 Magazine and 435mag.com.

We are looking for highly motivated, detail-oriented people with post-secondary experience in the design field. (We train, but expect the candidate to have strong typographic/creative skills). Duties include basic page layout assignments for front and back of book, image research, basic office tasks, website/marketing materials and other duties that may come up. Editorial Internship Program—435 Magazine

435 offers editorial internship positions all year in three-month programs of 20 hours per week. Internships are hands-on and involve a variety of responsibilities as well as the opportunity to regularly interact with the editorial staff.

Primary duties include fact-checking stories, contributing research to larger stories and feature packages, and writing shorter stories for the front of the book and dining sections. Interns also enter descriptions for the calendar and dining listings sections and write web exclusives for 435mag.com.

We offer an honorarium of $250/per month.

Please note: We can only accept applicants who are enrolled in an educational institution where they will receive school credit for completing an internship.

435 Magazine offers three-month, part-time internships in our Overland Park office for those seeking to gain magazine experience. The ideal candidate will be a well-organized, creative person with strong writing skills, an outgoing personality and an eagerness to learn.

This person will work closely with the sales and marketing team assisting with marketing initiatives, promotions, events, sponsorships and communications for the magazine. This person will also help draft sponsorship proposals, attend staff, editorial and sales meetings and learn the ins and outs of sales and marketing. The Pitchis looking for a digital-savvy intern for the fall of 2018. Candidates should be college juniors, seniors, or recent graduates looking for experience. We want marketing, PR, or journalism students who want to learn more about social media, email marketing, event planning, and content management systems at a local publication.

The Sporting Fields + Athletics Operations Intern will assist in orchestrating day to day logistics with the Operations Coordinator at each Sporting Fields + Athletics property. This individual will help maintain and operate world-class facilities and all its assets. This includes training centers, facility utilities, and fields.
This internship requires applicable college credit and is typically 15-30 hours weekly (depending on class schedule). Prior operations/facilities experience not required.

Events & Marketing Intern Kansas City Sports Commission

The Kansas City Sports Commission & Foundation and WIN for KC offers spring, summer and fall internships to college students (undergraduate or graduate level) and recent graduates. The internship periods are based on a school semester length. Internships can be utilized for course credit. The number of interns each semester is based on the needs of the KC Sports Commission and WIN for KC.

Our internship program is full time (9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday-Friday) and some nights and weekends. Interns are unpaid; however, they will have the opportunity to network with high-profile individuals and organizations in the community and attend a variety of sports-related activities and events. Out-of-state candidates are encouraged to apply but no housing is offered.

Various Internship Opportunities – Kansas City

Entercom Kansas City offers an opportunity for students to apply classroom theory to practical experience. Our internship program allows students to experience firsthand the reality of working in the radio broadcasting industry.
