ABOUT US

Herizon Productions, based in Overland Park, KS specializes in developing non-fiction content for television and documentary films. We have developed projects for HBO, CBS, MTV, CNN, Lifetime, Discovery ID, WEtv, The Oprah Winfrey Network, PBS and more.

Herizon’s Founder and Executive Producer, Sharon Liese recently wrapped her first season as a Co-creator and Executive Producer of the new true crime CBS documentary series “Pink Collar Crimes.” which aired in the summer of 2018. Sharon directed “Fight For the First” which premiered at the 2017 Meet The Press Film Festival. Her Documentary Short “The Gnomist” premiered at the 2015 Tribeca Film Festival. The film qualified for Oscar consideration and was picked up by CNNFilms. It now has over 12 million views online.

Created in collaboration with Academy Award-Winning Director Cynthia Wade, the Sundance Institute, and Dove, Sharon’s viral short “Selfie” premiered during the 2014 Sundance Film Festival, winning a 2014 CLIO Award.

WHAT WOULD YOU BE DOING?

Here at Herizon Productions, we are looking for a jack of all trades! You don’t have to be a pro at any of the following, but a substantial knowledge or working skill is preferred.

  • Editing (Premiere Pro)
  • Pre-production for shoots
  • Spreadsheets (Thorough knowledge of Excel is a plus!)
  • Writing (Proposals, Treatments, Professional E-mails, etc.)
  • Shooting (Various Consumer and Professional HD Cameras)
  • Brainstorming (The fun part! Fun, creative, fresh ideas are a must!)
  • Pitching your ideas for films, series, etc.

WHAT SKILLS ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We are looking for people who love storytelling and media as much as we do! As much fun as production is, we demand a high work ethic and quality of work from our interns. The best match for this internship is a person who is:

WHAT ARE THE SPECIFICS?

  • You can receive College Credit
  • You will likely receive credit on a film or TV series
  • Fall interns work about 3 days per week, slightly flexible with class schedules
  • Internship is unpaid
  • You will receive REAL production experience to build your career and resume!
