PLUG PROJECTS INTERNSHIP POSITION
Description:
An intern with PLUG Projects will provide support to the gallery directors to curate, promote, and program
exhibitions while engaging in active management of the gallery space.
Internship Duties:
• Attend and participate in weekly meetings
• Collaborate on conceptualizing and writing exhibition essays, press releases, and grants
• Update social networking (Facebook, Instagram, & website)
• Photographing and documenting programming events and exhibitions
• Support gallery programming and management
• Conduct research on prospective exhibitions, potential collaborators, and grant opportunities
• Assist in gallery preparation, exhibition installation, & lighting




• Some Saturday hours will be required
Qualifications:
• Organized
• Responsible
• Engaged
• Curious
• Must feel comfortable engaging with the public
• Great time management skills
• An interest in curation (specifically at an alternative space)
• An interest in expanded programming, art writing, & budget management a plus!
Educational Outcomes:
A PLUG Projects intern will gain valuable perspective on the day-to-day administrative duties of running and
programming a gallery space.

mission of bringing fresh perspectives and conversation to the local art community. Our goal is to energize

connections of artists in Kansas City as part of a wider, national network of artists.
