Role Summary: The Staff Services/Human Resources intern provides administrative assistance in all aspects of Human Resources, including recruiting, onboarding, employee record-keeping, training, compensation, issue resolution and staff separations.

Duties:

  • Willingness to accept the most effective role.
  • Greets and assists visitors, applicants and employees.
  • Answers incoming telephones and provides guest service.
  • Screens applicants for hire and arranges personal interviews.
  • Establishes and maintains personnel files.
  • Assists with conducting new hire orientation.
  • Tracks and records attendance points for all employees.
  • Monitors timeclock punches for hourly employees.
  • Distributes paychecks, uniforms, and other information as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by the HR manager.

Qualifications:

  • Must be friendly and outgoing with a high customer service acumen.
  • Must be pursuing or have completed a post-secondary education (in Human Resources field – preferred but not mandatory).
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.
  • Must be flexible with managing tasks in a fast-pacing ever-changing environment of a growing company.
  • Must take direction well and seek to achieve efficient and accurate completion of tasks as assigned.
  • Highly organized, having ability to handle a significant number of sales assignments simultaneously.
  • Must handle sensitive employee health information with care and confidentiality in accordance with company policy and adherence to HIPPA.
  • Must handle sensitive employee pay information with care and confidentiality in accordance with company policy and supervisor’s direction.

Physical Requirements:

  • Capable of working in a hot and humid environment outdoors.
  • Able to sit, stand and walk for long periods of time.
  • Must frequently use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 10 pounds.
