Associate Account Executive

Towner Communications is rapidly growing both in our sales and our technology offerings. Our strong roots and established reputation mean that we are able to expand our brand and better serve our vast client base. We’re looking to add an Associate Account Executive, who is interested in being a part of our tight knit team of out-of-the-box thinkers, and is driven by an overall passion for business.

This is an entry level position, with the trajectory of growing into an executive position, and eventually building your own team specializing in Cloud Based Communication Solutions sales. No experience is required, but you must be an aggressive hunter of opportunities: calling, personalized email campaigns, on-going demand generation activities, building qualified pipeline. We’ll teach you our sales process and how to manage it, from detailed discovery sessions, understanding budget, decision process and makers, researching the competition, setting up product demonstrations, and most importantly bringing the deal to closure.

Media Relations/Marketing Intern – Children’s Mercy ($10/hour)

Position Description:

The Graphic Design Intern will assist the Graphic Design Coordinator and the Graphic Design Manager with ongoing graphic design projects. The intern will also be assigned a campaign project to showcase his/her diverse artistic talents.

Terms of the internship include, but are not limited to:

  • Paid internship – we will coordinate with school to provide class credit as well
  • Reports to Graphic Design Coordinator
  • Weekly meeting with the Graphic Design Coordinator
  • Minimal local Kansas City metropolitan area travel
  • No housing or housing assistance will be provided
  • Business casual attire

Media Relations/Marketing Intern – Children’s Mercy ($10/hour)

The Children’s Mercy Media Relations Department is a three-person department responsible for facilitating all contacts with the news media, as well as proactively seeking news coverage on a local, regional and national level.

The department is responsible for:

  • Arranging interviews with physicians, nurses, patients, administrators, or other Children’s Mercy employees and the news media
  • Preparing experts for interviews with the news media
  • Story development and story pitching
  • Message development
  • Writing articles and developing other content for website and social channels
  • Updating and enhancing the online newsroom
  • Shooting, editing and producing video and podcasts for external and internal websites

Department Description:

Communications and Marketing – Medical is responsible for the development and implementation of marketing plans for strategic service lines, programs and faculty of the hospital, as well as initiatives to strengthen the overall brand for Children’s Mercy. They also must be honest, innovative and responsible. Upon completion of a successful probationary period, interns are eligible for an earned position.

We are looking for interns for this spring in communications, media, and development and thought you might be able to pass this information along to your students who might be a good fit.

PPKM is a fast paced mission-driven place to work and our interns usually work on a variety of projects and events regardless of what department they’re in. The internship is unpaid and we ask for a minimum commitment of nine hours per week. Start and end dates are negotiated with the interns direct supervisors but we would hope that anyone who was with us for the spring could stay at least three months.
