tROOST PARK pROJECT

In the following pictures I chose some of my favorite residential developments and houses in Kansas City. All of which have a different density and floor to area ratio. The unique thing about these residential buildings is the life they give their original locations. It would be great to see more life and exuberance brought to the Troost Park via further development. Below are a few photo-shopped images in a montage.

This Victorian style home is taken from the Historic Northeast, in Kansas City . With a floor area ratio of 0.34. It was important that I chose this pretty large lot to keep the floor to area ratio similar to the original F.A.R.
Although a home that looks nice is not everything this area might need. This development is also original to the Historic Northeast in Kansas City. The Troost Park, can really benefit from the high density population a development like this can bring. A multi-family residential development can bring the park some much needed usage. With the increase in population around the park new features can be implemented.
The Victorian house sits on the corner lot of 30th and Tracy ave. and the apartment buildings sit on Tracy ave. Both hypothetical developments can increase the neighborhood a combined 25 new families . With a culturally diver city the possible features in the park can range from art or sculpture to spoken and performance art.
This medium density apartment building although from Kansas City is from a different area than the last two. Taken from its location in Mid-town this multifamily building can bring some medium density to the surrounding area of the park. Located on Linwood Boulevard i kept the location next toe the Scottish Rite Temple. The reason for this location is that there is ample rooms for a development of medium density next to the Scottish Rite Temple. However, this development is small enough where it does not encroach too much on the temple.
Highlighted in yellow the Medium density building would be located on the corner of Tracy and Linwood Boulevard .
