My detailed study area is part of the western edge of campus as well as the commercial shops and some residential that is adjacent, from Volker/Ward Parkway south to 55th street and from Grand to Holmes. Some of the assets of my area are the commercial shops right next to campus that range from a coffee shop to restaurants and also a grocery store. Some of the circulation issues for the area at the current moment is how tight the street can be from the on street parking as well as the visibility when pulling out of the parking lots due to the on street parking. However, even with these small issues the area is almost always very active and has quite a bit of pedestrian traffic as well as bike traffic. This is quite different from the regional analysis our class had done earlier, in our study we saw that a majority of the city has extra surface parking in many places as well as a much higher number of vehicular traffic than pedestrian.
