The Regnier Institutes’ Summer Scholar program offers 20 freshman and sophomore students an intensive two-week course on entrepreneurship.
Summer Scholars gives students the opportunity to learn and apply entrepreneurial theories and practices with hands-on learning and real-world application.
We are now accepting applications for the 2023 Summer Scholars course. The course will be July 31-August 11, 2023. To apply log in to your application status page. You will need to enter the email and password you used to create your application. We will begin reviewing applications on May 1st.

Course Details
Course Credit
Participants in the Summer Scholars program will receive three credit hours that count for the ENT 315 Entrepreneurial Mindset and Opportunity Recognition course requirement.
Scholarship
Each accepted student is eligible to receive a $1,000 scholarship to cover the course.

We will select up to 20 freshman and sophomore students per year to patriciate in this 2-week intensive course from July 31-August 11.
Course Description
The first half will introduce you to entrepreneurial processes, theories and resources that will prepare you for an entrepreneurial career. The second half will focus on taking those resources and skills and applying them to your entrepreneurial journey.

How much does the program cost?
The tuition is the same as a full 3-credit summer course. Each student is eligible to receive a $1,000 scholarship, applicable specifically to this course.
Can I apply for the program if I am a transfer student?
Absolutely, the program is open to student going into their freshman or sophomore years with less than 60 college credit hours. They can be new students or ongoing UMKC students or transfer students as long as they plan on attending UMKC the following semester.
What are the class times?
The class runs Monday-Friday from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm in Bloch Executive Hall. We will provide lunch. We will also have 2 field trip days. Those days might have a slightly different schedule. You are expected to be at class the full time.
Do you provide housing?
We do not provide housing. If you are living in the dorms in the fall, you might be able to talk to Residential Life about moving in early. There will be a cost associated with this.
