This article really stood out to me because parents should be able to talk to their kids about anything and everything – even sex. With better communication there may be fewer teenage pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases. The article points out that “many studies show that nearly 70% of high school seniors are having sex.” Maybe this statistic wouldn’t be so high if parents just talked to their kids about it. My advice to parents is not to be afraid of talking to their their daughters about sex; they’re probably going to listen. Be that enforcer and don’t be silent.

Hi Nicole I definitely agree your comment on this article. I was lucky enough to have a parent that talked openly with me about sex and issues surrounding sex i.e STD's. I think that having a parent that was so open about this topic has given me such a postive and realistic perception on sex and has really shaped the decisions I make toward sex.
