Miyako Rauls: My Life in a Nut Shell

  • by

Hi all,
My name is Miyako Rauls and I am a first generation college student. My parents were unable to attend university but they always put education first. I am majoring in Nursing with a Minor in Spanish (I know I am crazy!). I want to be a Nurse Midwife in an urban clinic teaching Health Wellness and Prevention to under privileged men and women. I feel that this is my calling. Going into this career field is one of the reasons why I wanted to work at the Women’s Center. I feel that my career field of nursing goes along with the mission statement of the Women’s Center because I will be advocating and educating the community daily. I really enjoy working here and I like the people I work with.

  1. The Women's Center is a perfect place for you to work. You will be dealing with women throughout your career and this is a good stepping stone for you.

  2. Thank you Patsy. I like how you said that this is a "stepping stone" this really feels like that to me. This is a stepping stone in the right direction.
