Hello, my name is Danielle Lyons. I’m a senior here at UMKC. I am a studio art major with a focus on photography. I decided to attend UMKC because Kansas City’s has a large art community, and it seemed like a fantastic place to grow as an artist.
I’m new to the Women’s Center this semester, and I’m very happy to be here. I have been in college for almost six years, during which time I’ve experienced the hard realities that women can face on campus. These experiences have made me passionate about the issues women face. I am excited to be a part of the Women’s Center, as I find it to be a great resource.
My goal in the Women’s Center is to learn more about the social issues women face. Another goal of mine is to learn how to be a better advocate for change and become more involved.
