A progressive Australian group called Get Up! is working to end marriage discrimination for same sex couples. They’re urging the Prime Minster, Julia Gillard, to amend the Commonwealth Marriage Act. Recently they released an ad to depict how same sex couples are just like ‘traditional’ couples. They meet, fall in love, have their good times and bad. They move in together, and eventually decide to get married. While watching the ad, if you weren’t aware of its purpose, you would probably assume that all these things were happening to a straight couple. What do you think of the video?
