Dr. Tunkuc graduated with a DDS degree from Istanbul University Faculty of Dentistry and was in private practice in Turkey until 2001.

She later received a Certificate from the International Advanced Study Program in Prosthodontics and attained a Master of Science degree in Clinical Research from NYU College of Dentistry. During her time there, Dr. Tunkuc completed a residency in prosthodontics and received the Excellence in Prosthodontics Teaching Award.

In order to practice in the United States, she attended the University of Missouri Kansas City School of Dentistry and received her second DDS degree. She then joined the UMKC Dental Faculty Practice in 2013.

Dr. Tunkuc is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the department of Restorative Clinical Sciences at UMKC and specializes in Prosthodontics.

She maintains memberships in the American College of Prosthodontics (ACP) and the American Dental Education Association.

Practicing dentistry brings out Dr. Tunkuc’s artistic side as she rejuvenates her patients’ smiles by improving the function and appearance of their teeth. Her goal is to ensure that her patients enjoy natural-looking and functioning smiles when she has completed their treatment. Nothing makes Dr. Tunkuc happier than seeing a patient’s happy, satisfied and beautiful smile.

Dr. Tunkuc is fluent in Turkish. During her leisure time she enjoys traveling with her husband and cooking.
