Dr. Bhavika Thakkar received her Bachelor of Dental Surgery in India in 2010 and practiced dentistry there until coming to the United States in 2011.
In the United States, Dr. Thakkar attended the New York University College of Dentistry and completed post graduate studies in Esthetic Dentistry and Prosthodontics. She received the 2018 Excellence in Prosthodontic Teaching Award and graduated with a certificate in Prosthodontics.
At the UMKC Dental Faculty Practice, Dr. Thakkar’s main focus is in prosthodontics, providing crowns, bridges, removable and complete dentures as well as surgical placement and restorations of dental implants. She is also specialized in full mouth reconstruction cases and is passionate about taking the time to analyze a patient’s smile, create a customized treatment plan and implement that plan.
Dr. Thakkar maintains memberships in the American College of Prosthodontics, American Dental Association, Greater New York Academy of Prosthodontics, Indian Academy of Aesthetic and Cosmetic Dentistry and the Indian Dental Association.

Dr. Thakkar attends many dental conferences including the Annual American College of Prosthodontics.
Dr. Thakkar looks forward to building strong doctor/patient relationships and enjoys seeing her patient’s smiles when they come to see her.
When she is not keeping herself busy reading research and information on the latest trends in dentistry and prosthodontics, Dr. Thakkar enjoys dancing, painting, watching movies, listening to music, staying fit and traveling.
