Dr. Chih-Yun Tao, DDS, MS, graduated with dental degrees from National Taiwan University of Dentistry and Tuft University School of Dental Medicine.

She completed residencies at The National Taiwan University School of Dentistry where she received her AEGD certificate. After graduating from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine Dr. Tao completed a residency in Periodontics there.

She joined the UMKC dental team in 2019. Prior to coming to the United States, Dr. Tao practiced dentistry in Taiwan for three years.

Dr. Tao maintains memberships in the Osteology Foundation, Academy of Osseointegration, American Academy of Periodontology, American Dental Association and the American Dental Education Association.

Dr. Tao is committed to providing patient centered care with communication as the driving force. She enjoys working with patients, providing them the treatment, care and education they need to achieve and maintain good oral health.

Dr. Tao is very close to her parents and younger brother and misses them a great deal as they are on the other side of the Pacific Ocean and she doesn’t get to see them often.

She enjoys leaning new things whether is it related to dentistry or personal life. Currently Dr. Tao is exploring cooking, yoga and investing during her leisure time.
