Reading Opportunity for Tuba

Interested in hearing your tuba composition performed in recital? Check out this note from a current UMKC student!

Hello!

I am looking for new compositions to perform at a recital on June 21st, 2017 at the Summer Composition Workshop! With it being summer, it is difficult to find other performers in the area who can commit to a recital, so I am looking for unaccompanied tuba music, about 2-3 minutes long. Deadline to submit is May 21st! Please email me at lnjd54@mail.umkc.edu if you’d like to submit a score or have any questions! Feel free to contact me. I’m looking forward to receiving a lot of compositions from you all!

Best,

Logan Jungman

3rd update from our 2014 Commission Winner

Just a few months to go until we hear Michael’s piece performed at Composition Workshop 2015.  In the video below, he mentions some concepts he is keeping in mind from last year’s workshop, and shows us some plans for the score.  We’re excited to see where he goes with this!

Another update from our 2014 Commission Competition winner

Michael Maiorana’s commission for newEar continues to take shape, and he has sent us this video about his process as he works.  His piece is inspired by the Rosetta space probe mission, and has some great ideas taking shape.  We look forward to hearing the finished piece at this year’s Composition Workshop!
