The Urban Education Research Center (UERC) at the University of Missouri-Kansas City works with the community to address pressing educational challenges. Through collaboration with education professionals and community leaders, we provide insights about the root causes of these challenges and identify possible solutions.

We do this by engaging with partners in five ways:

Listen

Identify problems and assess needs

Design

Design strategies with partners to collect and make sense of evidence about identified challenges and potential solutions

Inquire

Collect and make sense of evidence using state-of-the-art data collection and analysis methods

Communicate

Summarize and solidify the meaning of evidence

Reflect

Engage in reflective conversations with partners about the meaning of evidence and implications for future actions
