Junior Achievement Program Evaluation

Focus Areas: Essential Skills/SEL, K-12 Education

This evaluation examines the impact and implementation of the Junior Achievement of Greater Kansas City’s programming, which includes multiple touchpoints to engage K-12 students in learning about financial literacy, community-level economics, work and career readiness, and business management.

Junior Achievement of Greater Kansas City bridges many different communities with intentionality to connect KC youth to a network of mentors from the business world who light a path along the way, creating access and opportunity for a choice-filled future. At JA BizTown, students work in a simulated Kansas City economy, connecting the dots between the classroom and real-world. Through JA’s Classroom Learning programs, students learn about the financial literacy, career readiness, and entrepreneurship skills through age-appropriate curriculum taught by teachers and community volunteers.

UERC is serving as an evaluation partner by collecting data through student and teacher surveys, as well as teacher focus groups, to examine implementation and impact on student knowledge, skills, and attitudes.
