Being informed is vitally important when it comes to the prevention of all forms of sexual misconduct, including sexual assault and sexual violence, gender-based violence, stalking, relationship abuse, and sexual coercion.  Understanding consent, incapacitation, and the elements of each form of sexual misconduct is the first step in prevention, and knowing the possible red flags that often signal the presence of stalking, relationship abuse, and sexual coercion may help us recognize these experiences in our own lives or the lives of our friends, family members, and colleagues.
