Meet the Staff


Elizabeth Valle, Director, UMKC Community Music and Dance Academy

Elizabeth Valle is currently completing a masters degree from the UMKC Conservatory of Music and Dance in music theory. She has an undergraduate degree from Midamerica Nazarene University in harp pedagogy. Elizabeth has been teaching music to students in the Kansas City area for more than twelve years, and has been active in many of the local music associations and festivals. In addition, she is currently the Vice President of the Kansas City Lyra Chapter of the American Harp Society. Elizabeth has also chaired or co-chaired many large events in the KC area, including: the OMTA Solo Festival, the OMTA Halloween Recitals, the Lyra Chapter KC Harp Weekend, and the KC Harp Competition.


Bianca Kumar, Program Assistant, UMKC Community Music and Dance Academy

Bianca Kumar earned a Bachelor of Music degree from Ohio State University in 2016 and a Master of Music degree from the UMKC Conservatory of Music and Dance in 2018. Outside of UMKC, she runs a large and rapidly-growing private studio of oboe and flute students, teaches masterclasses throughout the KC metro schools, and is the assistant principal oboe/English hornist of the Wichita Grand Opera.
