Musical Bridges 2017 Fundraising Concert String Ensemble, directed by Conservatory violin professor, Joseph Genualdi
Musical Bridges provides exceptional young musicians with the intensive, one-on-one instruction and performance experience necessary to prepare for auditions into selective university programs such as UMKC Conservatory of Music and Dance. While quality performing arts education can take place through ensemble instruction at the pre-collegiate level, the ability to reach the highest levels of artistry in music almost always depends on individual nurturing through one-on-one lessons beginning at an early age. By focusing on underrepresented populations, Musical Bridges aims to give students with great artistic potential the opportunity to succeed in the performing arts. Ensembles in the Schools provides high-quality band, orchestra, and general music instruction in area elementary and middle schools. Since its inception in 2008, Ensembles in the Schools has reached hundreds of students learning to sing or play orchestra and band instruments. Ensembles in the Schools aims to prepare younger students for the more intensive instructional environment of Musical Bridges.
Through this flexible program, the Academy is able to tailor a curriculum to meet the needs of each partnering school. From general music to jazz band, Ensembles in the Schools instructors make sure that students receive the high-quality music instruction they deserve.
Educators, school administrators, and parents are encouraged to contact the Academy at 816-235-5448 to discuss how Ensembles in the Schools can develop an individualized plan to supplement your school’s existing curriculum.
