Music Theory Day Camps

Description: This class will provide students with a complete and thorough understanding of the fundamentals of music theory. It is the perfect course for the future music major seeking to pass college entrance exams or simply wishing to get a head start on one of the more difficult subjects of their freshman year. Whether or not this fits your description, students of all ages will take away a deeper appreciation of their repertoire, as they gain the tools to unlock the mystery behind each pieces construction. During this intensive week of study, the students will acquire an understanding of: clefs, key signatures, intervals, scales, triads, seventh-chords, and an introduction to figured bass.

It is recommended that students have at least one year of experience in applied music (private lessons) or two years experience in a school ensemble. This camp will meet 6 – 8pm.
