Jolie Justus for Mayor

Progressive Kansas City Mayoral Campaign Seeking Interns

About the Candidate:
Jolie Justus was elected to Kansas City’s 4th Council District in 2015 after representing Missouri’s 10th Senatorial District, where she served as Minority Leader. In Jefferson City, Jolie fought for Missouri’s children & families, led and passed criminal justice reform, and made sure that Kansas City got its fair share of state resources. She is a progressive known for getting things done and, as the first openly LGBTQ member of the Missouri Senate, shepherded the Missouri Non-Discrimination Act out of the Republican-dominated State Senate. She’s brought that collaborative approach to the City Council, where she’s helping domestic violence survivors get a new lease on life, establishing safe routes to schools for our kids, supporting a $15-an-hour minimum wage, and leading the charge for Kansas City’s new airport.
Qualifications:
● Hard-working students who are willing to dedicate 8-12 hours per week to the campaign
● An interest in continuing the progress of one of the most exciting cities in the country
● A desire to improve the lives of current and future generations
● Prior experience volunteering or interning for a campaign is preferred, but not required!

Description of Internships: Interns may focus on field organizing or fundraising. Field Interns will have the opportunity to experience multiple phrases of a campaign including persuasion and Get Out the Vote (GOTV).

Field interns will focus on voter contact and volunteer management and will gain knowledge of what it takes to win a political election. Interns will organize and participate in volunteer canvasses, phone banks, meet and greets, debates and forums, and more. They will also gain experience using with important campaign management software, such as VoteBuilder. If you are interested in a field internship, please submit your resume and a brief cover letter explaining your interest in the position to Stephanie Medina at stephanie@justusforkc.com.

City Internships Summer 2019

https://www.city-internships.com/apply/?utm_source=sendmail&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=e3usal
Our Summer programs continue to fill at a record rate, and I would encourage any interested students to apply now to avoid disappointment.

This year has been the first that we have offered our Student Aid scheme, which grants up to $3,263 to students enrolling in one of our programs. All students are eligible for some aid, but the overwhelming amount of applications we have received means we will be re-assessing our aid contributions at some point during the Spring.

We will endeavour to provide as much support as possible to Students, but sadly it is not an unlimited resource! As such, I would again encourage students who aim to rely on our Student Aid offering to apply sooner rather than later.

For a short reminder of what we do: our Programs are open to students from any year and with any major, and they may choose a placement in one of 9 career fields: Banking & Financial services; Consulting & Professional services; Law & Politics; Technology & Engineering; Marketing, Advertising & PR; Media, Entertainment & Journalism; Art, Fashion & Design; Start-ups & Entrepreneurship; Charities, NFPs & NGOs.
Programs are available in 9 locations: London, Paris, New York, Miami, Los Angeles, Boston, Washington DC, Chicago, San Francisco
