City Internships Summer 2019

https://www.city-internships.com/apply/?utm_source=sendmail&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=e3usal
Our Summer programs continue to fill at a record rate, and I would encourage any interested students to apply now to avoid disappointment.

This year has been the first that we have offered our Student Aid scheme, which grants up to $3,263 to students enrolling in one of our programs. All students are eligible for some aid, but the overwhelming amount of applications we have received means we will be re-assessing our aid contributions at some point during the Spring.

We will endeavour to provide as much support as possible to Students, but sadly it is not an unlimited resource! As such, I would again encourage students who aim to rely on our Student Aid offering to apply sooner rather than later.

For a short reminder of what we do: our Programs are open to students from any year and with any major, and they may choose a placement in one of 9 career fields: Banking & Financial services; Consulting & Professional services; Law & Politics; Technology & Engineering; Marketing, Advertising & PR; Media, Entertainment & Journalism; Art, Fashion & Design; Start-ups & Entrepreneurship; Charities, NFPs & NGOs.
Programs are available in 9 locations: London, Paris, New York, Miami, Los Angeles, Boston, Washington DC, Chicago, San Francisco

Avodah Justice Fellowship

Applications are open for the Kansas City cohort of the the Avodah Justice Fellowship, a selective eight-month learning, professional development, and community-building experience for Jewish early-career professionals working on domestic social and economic justice issues.

The Avodah Justice Fellowship provides an opportunity to join a Jewish community of experienced social justice leaders who will help participants grow personally, professionally, and spiritually. Fellows keep their day jobs and join Avodah for regular evening lessons drawn from our cutting-edge curriculum. Fellows will develop a systemic analysis on poverty, burnout inoculation, leadership skills, Jewish depth, and a robust communal network. Our intentional, pluralistic community is designed to support Fellows in staying in critical justice work for the long term.

Ideal applicants have 2-7 years experience engaging in social and economic justice work in either a professional or personal capacity. They are eager to explore the intersections of Jewish life and justice, committed to personal growth, and excited to be in community.

We believe students in your program or people in your professional network might be strong fits for this opportunity! Forward this email to them, or nominate the perfect person below.

The deadline is October 1st for a November 2018 start. More information can be found at https://avodah.net/what-we-do/avodah-fellowship/.

Impact Organizer-Work for Progress

ARE YOU AN ORGANIZER?

An organizer is someone you need when simply standing up for what’s right isn’t enough to make a difference.

Imagine you want to change something, but you’re faced with resistance. The only way you can win is to get lots of people to join together to take the right action at the right time. That’s what an organizer does. And with Impact, that’s what you’ll do for our environment, our democracy, and our future.

ORGANIZE FOR OUR ENVIRONMENT, OUR DEMOCRACY, AND OUR FUTURE

Impact is a team of organizers, working on behalf of groups like PIRG and Environment America.

Our partner groups have researchers, policy analysts and lobbyists who work together for that better future. But, as you can imagine, research and lobbying are not always enough to get things done in American politics. It often takes organizers. And when it’s crunch time on a high-priority campaign, that’s when the Impact team moves in.

HOW YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT

With Impact, you’ll go to the places that can decide whether we win or lose a campaign. And by engaging the media, building new coalitions, and activating civic leaders or student activists, you’ll set the stage for winning the next campaign. One district, one state at a time, Impact aims to move the dial in American politics in a positive direction.

During the summer, you’ll direct a campaign office, building the organization by canvassing and training others to canvass. And you’ll recruit the next wave of Impact organizers and interns so we can continue to work on more campaigns.

Impact organizers currently work in 25 states. We’re working with national campaigns to get our country to 100 percent renewable energy, ban the use of bee-killing pesticides, and end the overuse of antibiotics on factory farms.

With Impact, you make a difference now; the work you do builds the power we need to win more victories; and you gain the experience that PIRG, Environment America and other groups look for when hiring new advocates and campaign directors.

If you can see yourself next year organizing to make a difference for our health and environment, apply to join the Impact team.

PAY & BENEFITS

The target annual compensation for this position is $26,000 in the first year. Impact offers a competitive benefits package. We also offer an excellent training program and opportunities for advancement.
