E-Portfolio Workshop Schedule Spring 2012

Learn to build an Electronic Promotion & Tenure Portfolio using Adobe Professional software at any of the following sessions.  Limit 10 per session, seating priority to faculty presenting portfolios for review in May 2012.  Follow instructions above to register.  You can get a head-start reviewing the E-Portfolio Content and Format and Electronic Portfolio Instructions pages available in the left column and downloading the E-Portfolio Instructional Template.  To enroll, email edmundsonr@umkc.edu with the date/time/location.

To enroll in one of the Workshops or Info Sessions listed below, contact Beci Edmundson (edmundsonr@umkc.edu) ext. 2721.  You will receive an Outlook Calendar Event notification when your enrollment is received, please click “Accept” to RSVP and add the event to your Outlook Calendar.

Workshop attendees should load sample portfolio materials (CV, Part I Form, sample publications and course syllabi, etc) onto the Q: drive prior to attending the workshop.

The UMKC Digital Dropbox is an excellent way to deliver electronic promotion & tenure portfolios up to 1GB in size.  It works just like email!

Sending:

• Log in to UMKC Digital Dropbox with your UMKC user ID and password
• Click “Compose” tab
• Enter email address(es) of Recipient(s)
• Attach your e-portfolio
• Write a brief message (if you prefer)
• Click “Send”

 

Retrieving:

• Log in to UMKC Digital Dropbox with your UMKC user ID and password
• Click “Messages” tab
• Click on the message to open
• Download and save the attached e-portfolio document (may take several minutes, depending upon portfolio size)
• Message must be retrieved by Recipient within 5 days of receipt



P&T COORDINATORS:  Send E-Portfolios to EXTERNAL EVALUATORS via Digital Dropbox!

UMKC Digital Dropbox may also be used to send an electronic P&T portfolio to email addresses outside the university (such as External Evaluators).  Simply type the external email address into the “To:” field.  Digital Dropbox will automatically send the Recipient a message containing their username (email address) and a secure password, before your message arrives.  When the external Recipient receives your message, they simply follow the steps above to retrieve their message.  The recipient may also use the Digital Dropbox to return their written recommendation document, using the same password.
