The UMKC Vocal Arts Camp is a choral and vocal camp experience with UMKC Director of Choral Studies, Dr. Jennaya Robison, and guest clinician and composer, Ryan Main.
The camp includes options for individual voice lessons, a beginning conducting seminar, acting for singers, and movement classes. Each day includes choral rehearsals and choices for various seminar classes, lessons, and daily activities such as a faculty recital, student talent show, and final concert and recital.
Singers will come away from the camp having a better understanding of performance techniques and polished musicianship. All singers are welcome – no audition required. There are two tracks are available – a middle school track for rising 7th and 8th grade students and a high school track for rising 9th grade students through rising 12th grade students. Campers have the option to stay on campus and experience “college life” as a VAC camper or participate as a commuter.
