Summer 2019 RESPOND Training Date Announced

One in five people will experience a mental health problem this year. Most people want to help yet often feel uncertain about what to do or say. To help, UMKC Counseling Services will offer RESPOND: Partnering for Campus Mental Health training from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, June 11 in the Brookside Room of the Administrative Center, 5115 Oak Street on the Volker Campus.

RESPOND will empower individuals to offer effective support to a student or colleague. The course provides a basic overview of symptoms often associated with mental health problems and teaches an action plan to help respond effectively.

The training is free and open to UMKC faculty and staff. It is supported by the vice chancellor for student affairs and the University of Missouri Board of Curators.
