Due Jan. 30: Pre-Proposals for Missouri Strategic Initiative Funds


What: The Missouri Strategic Initiative Funds are investments that will be made during a five-year period to support bold, innovative and far-reaching proposals from the four UM System universities. The Research and Creative Works Funds will be used to support novel approaches to address grand challenges.

Proposals in two tiers are being considered:

Tier 1: Instrumentation and infrastructure proposals that involve total requested funds up to $4 million.

Tier 2: Multi-investigator project proposals that involve total requested funds up to $750,000 over a two-year period. For this tier, there will be an emphasis in supporting grand challenge projects that lead to center-level activities.

Who: All tenured/tenure-track faculty and full-time, ranked, non-tenure track research faculty are eligible to apply.

Timeline: The call for proposals involves a two-step process. Pre-proposals are due to by close of business on Wednesday, Jan. 30. You’re strongly encouraged to notify your department chair and dean regarding your submission.

Invitations to submit a full proposal will be finalized by April 1 with an application deadlines of May 15.
