The Mid-America Regional Council honored Maria Meyers, executive director of the UMKC Innovation Center and vice provost of economic development, with one of its 2019 Regional Leadership Awards. Meyers is the founder of KCSourceLink and SourceLink, valuable resources to entrepreneurs for more than 15 years.
Meyers shares her expertise nationally through speaking engagements, journal articles and blog posts. She was one of four recipients of the leadership award, presented June 14 at the annual MARC regional assembly. The others were Desiree Monize, executive director and CEO of Avenue of Life; David Slater, mayor of Pleasant Valley, Missouri; and the West Central Missouri Community Action Agency.
MARC serves the nine-county Kansas City metropolitan area, which includes 119 separate city governments.
